We had a number of social action projects taking place around Norfolk as part of the Newday youth event at the Norfolk Showground in 2011.

King's Community Church hosted a family fun afternoon in Peterson Park. This involved sport activities, live music, drama performances, food and childrens craft activities like face painting & balloon sculpture.

Young people helped with four days of clearance at Peterson Park and the surrounding streets, with communal areas and local residents' gardens being tidied and cleared of rubbish.

Young people helped local residents in Catton clear front gardens and paint fences. The final day (Saturday) was a planting scheme day.

Young people were engaged in a variety of environmental tasks throughout Bowthorpe, Norwich including litter picking, tidying up community and recreational areas, tidying gardens of the elderly, and work in Bowthorpe Heritage Community Garden. In addition some young people spent some time working with other young people at St. Michael’s School holiday club and at the Football Development Centre.

Young people helped run the fun days for all ages. Lots of games and activities for children, crèche provided for very little ones, pampering session and refreshments for parents.
